Trailing Cursors For Outlook Express Emails.
Below is the step by step info for the 12 Trails

STEP 1:
After you have saved the gif to your hard drive, and copied the scripting code to your Windows notepad from the previous page, and saved both the script and the gif in the same folder. You are saving this script so you can add your own new gif images later on.
Now bring up your Outlook Express Inbox. Click on New Mail (or) New Message whichever you may have. Look towards the very bottom of your new message box.
If you already have View, Source and Edit on the bottom of your New message Box (this will be easy) and you can skip step 2.
But if you do not see these on the bottom, then continue onto step 2.

STEP 2:
On your new message box, on your title bar at the top look for View. (You may have to do a search for your view button) Depending on the version of Outlook Express you may have. If you are using 5.5 this will be easy to find..
Once you find it, left click on View, on the drop down menu look for and left click onto Source Edit.. This will place a check mark in front of the words Source Edit.
By doing this it should have placed the View, Source and Edit on the bottom of your New Message box.
Now you are ready to do some modifying and adding the trailing cursor script to your email source.

STEP 3:
Now we will be working with your notepad and modifying the script.....

**HINT**
Here is an easy way to get to your rose gif, without having to go into the folder each time..

Open the folder you have saved this gif to.. When you find the rose.gif double click on its folder (right in front of the words) to open it in a new window. In this new window on the address bar you will be able to see the full path of this gif. Just highlight the addressed path and do a right click and copy all of it..
Now on your notepad, every where you see the rose you will need to highlight ONLY the words rose.gif

Then do a right click on these highlighted words and do a paste.
Continue repeating these steps until you have from
id dot0 to id dot11 filled in with your new gif script.
DO NOT MAKE ANY OTHER CHANGES TO THE CURSOR SCRIPT. As by doing so the trails may not work.
Be sure to save a renamed copy of your modified script in the same folder as your rose.gif so you will not have to make these steps again..
I like to name mine TrailinRose, this lets me know it is a trailing cursor and is ready to be used.

STEP 4:
Once you have all the id dot's filled in correctly then we will move over to your OE Email Source. And on the bottom of your new message, click on Source if you haven't already.
This is where you will need to place your copy of the script code from your Windows notepad.
In your OE email source locate the BODY bgColor=#ffffff this is where we will be placing the trailing script.
EXAMPLE: this is your email body tag..
BODY bgColor=#ffffff your trailing cursor script will be placed here just after the > after the body tag
To place the script here, you will need to do a copy from your notepad script. Then a paste of the script to your OE source.
So lets go back to your notepad, right click any where on the script page its self, then left click on Copy.
Now go back to your OE Source and again locate the BODY bgColor=#ffffff and left click just after the > past the body tag, you should get a flashing line cursor, Then in the spot right click, then left click on Paste. Now the script should be in your source just after the body tag.
Now you can preview your work, on the bottom of your new message box left click on the Preview .
There you should see the 12 Rose/Heart Trailing cursor...

STEP 5:
After you have previewed it, and made sure the trails are there. Go back to the bottom of your new message and click on Edit.
From here you will be able to type in your message...
HINT: Left click at the very top left of the white board (your type area). When you see a flashing line cursor. Tap your Right arrow key, on your keyboard several times until the flashing line is about 1 to 2 inches from the far top left. (This will keep your Heart/Rose trails from covering up your first few words). You may also want to drop down a line or so.. Do this by hitting your Enter key on your keyboard a few times..

STEP 6:
You can switch back and forth from the edit to preview page at any time. When you are done you can add a background picture, or color if you wish too. Then send your new message on as you normally would.

The receivers of your email will now see a trailing cursor with their email message from you.

HINT: Be sure to be on the Edit page when you click on send, or it will give you a pop up box telling you that you are in the preview page and you have to go back to the Edit page to send.

Now back to the Trailing Cursor page
